Why "Women Empowerment"
When you read "Coach Mag: Women's Empowerment" don't go thinking I am an enraged feminist who believes men are useless and women must have all the power!
I chose the word "empowerment" because it is "the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights." To empower is to give someone power to do something. I believe there is power in achieving our goals. If you have ever seen a World Cup soccer game (or any sport game as a matter of fact), you know the joy we feel when a goal is scored! Well, this is the same in life! Achieving our goals enhances self-efficacy, which in turn increases self-confidence. It brings much joy and balance, and it helps us progress.
Women are the heart of families and communities. There is no doubt about it in my mind! They have many roles to fulfill and have a lot on their plates. They work hard, they have families, friends, and responsibilities in the community. They are busy. They are strong and can be exhausted at times.
On top of this, they are bombarded on a daily basis with messages that tell them how they should look like, behave, think, and feel. They are told what to buy or what goals they should achieve. Sometimes these goals are not even tailored to their needs!
ENOUGH OF THIS! Women must be empowered to be themselves. Each woman should take the time to ponder about her worth, values and mission in life. Each one should discover her strengths and develop them, stop comparing herself to others, and live a fulfilled life by setting her own goals and courageously achieving them.
And, I AM HERE TO HELP!
